In recent years there has been a marked tendency to increase the share of insourcing in the sector. The aim is to decrease the dependency on suppliers and to successfully execute the strategic actions of the company. The individual parametrization and configuration of the appliances and the systems of substation secondary technology as well as the execution of system integration tasks help to significantly decrease this dependency and at the same time to increase the reliability of the system (unified configuration, data point lists, etc.).
A milestone on the path towards independence was to build a test environment that enabled the configuration and comprehensive testing of any protection and control technology system before it would be deployed to the designated substation.
The test lab established at one of the designated offices of MAVIR enables the complex simultaneous analysis of the secondary technology of devices in order to decrease the time and cost of fieldwork (travel time, fuel, domestic delegations, etc.).
As a part of the project, we installed Rittal racks with MOXA devices. We deployed a complete ARH system and designed terminal block structures to model the various primary topologies. The solution uses the quick connection feature of substation IEDs (protection, field machines, head machines, etc.). The developed system enables the testing of secondary technology updates and the design of new, innovative solutions.
